THE SHORT:
MaryBeth Weidman: artist, poet, maker, friend
THE LONG:
My name is MaryBeth Weidman and I am an artist working and living in the pastoral Oley Valley. Originally a self-taught photographer, I decided to attend Kutztown University to continue my artistic development and ended up graduating with a BFA in Photography in 2022.
I started out taking photographs to capture everyday snapshots and express my inner thoughts, but ultimately my hobby has evolved into deeply rewarding freelance work creating stunning and emotional portraits shot with attention to detail, color and light. My work is also informed by my love for pattern, texture, mixed media art, collage, storytelling and visual risk-taking.
When I am not creating photographic work with my clients, you can find me in the pottery studio making large, hand-built works out of clay, or out in the woods behind my house grabbing photos of the deer, woodpeckers, owls and herons that live there. I am also a huge fan of poetry, bonfires, spending time with family, and kayaking.
