Aimee and Jake met me by the scenic overlook at the Trexler Nature Preserve for their golden hour engagement shoot. We had been waiting with fingers crossed all day hoping the rain and clouds on the forecast would pass through, and luckily enough for us the skies cleared. The air was cool, the light was warm and rich, and the three of us wandered around on the paths cleared through the fields, joking and catching up.

Aimee and I have been friends forever. We met during our Brownie year of Girl Scouts in grade school and instantly she was the funniest person I knew! She kept making me laugh all the way through high school, and then we ended up at the same local university. While we were majoring in different subjects, she teaching and I art, we bonded over stories of annoying professors, complaints about our stupid part-time jobs, and the overall craziness of our personal lives in general. The first time I met Jake he brought Aimee a smoothie all the way across campus to the computer lab where we were hanging out just because she texted him mentioning she wanted one, and that kind of caring and sensitivity has set the tone for the rest of their relationship. Seeing how happy she and Jake are together and witnessing them step into this next chapter together is an incredibly special honor.

Aimee and Jake, thank you for trusting me with these precious memories! It is always an honor to capture someone's milestone moment, but it's extra special when it's for someone who I've shared so much history with. I can't wait to celebrate you both on your wedding day and cheer you on for every new chapter to come!
